Creative Expressions Campaign

Support the Healing Power of the Arts!

Since the pandemic, anxiety and depression have doubled in our youth. Experts warn that a historic wave of mental health problems is approaching, including depression, substance abuse, PTSD, and suicide. Levels of stress and trauma are expected to be even higher in lower-income communities.

To address this alarming problem, Monmouth Arts, the leading arts organization in Monmouth County, developed the Creative Expressions, Arts and Wellness Program, a countywide initiative that uses the arts to address the rise in mental health issues in our youth due to the pandemic. Creative Expressions applies art forms such as painting, music, and dance to effectively treat stress, anxiety, and depression arising from COVID-19.  Teaching artists and mental health professionals align themselves with Monmouth County organizations that serve economically disadvantaged youth to offer a wide range of free arts experiences over a four-week period.

Through the generosity of Impact 100 Jersey Coast, Creative Expressions was initiated last year. We have reached nearly 1,000 underserved youth in Long Branch, Neptune, Asbury Park, Freehold, and Red Bank. We have seen firsthand the incredible healing power of the arts, regardless of artistic experience or talent.

Today, we embark on the Creative Expressions Campaign to bring the healing power of the arts to even more underserved youth in our community. We aim to raise $25,000 by December 31, 2022, to help underwrite the costs.

To make our plans a reality, we need your help! Can YOU make a special year-end contribution of $50, $100, $250, $500, or $1,000? Just click the "Donate Now" link to make a difference today.

All contributors will be listed on the Monmouth Arts website and any donor that gives $250 or more will receive a limited edition Monmouth Arts tote.
