Monmouth Arts presents Paint Your Own Tea Light Candle Holder Workshop – a cultural, community-building event that gives participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in Diwali celebrations and Indian traditions. 

In collaboration with the Holmdel Indian Association, Monmouth Arts offers this free event where participants will learn about the Indian art form of Henna and how it can be used to decorate your own unique candle holder.

Mittal Shah has a deep passion for exploring diverse artistic mediums and creative techniques. Her artistic journey began in her teenage years with painting and garment design, which naturally led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Design and a successful career in the fashion industry. Driven by her love for Diwali, the Festival of Lights, Mittal finds constant inspiration in its empowering message of "light over darkness." In this workshop, she brings this symbolism to life by merging traditional Mehndi (henna) art patterns with classic "diyas" (Hindi for lamps) to guide participants in creating beautifully decorated, handcrafted tea light holders.
