An Artist Talk with Our Current Exhibit Artist, Richard Huff
April 18, 2026 | 2:00pm | ArtSpace in Red Bank
Free and open to the public!
What happens when you’re on the street, pointing your camera at the world around you with no studio and no control? Photographer Richard Huff has spent decades doing that, and in this talk, he’ll share how street photography happens.
A collection of Huff’s award-winning images, titled Street Life, is on display at Monmouth Arts’ ArtSpace at 99 Monmouth Street in Red Bank, NJ. The images in Street Life are recent, black-and-white works that focus on the flow of light and shadow, the presence—or absence—of eye contact between the photographer and the subject, and the emotional texture of life as it unfolds in public spaces. This is life in motion: real, unpredictable, and fleeting. Each photograph is a sliver of time, captured forever, a quiet record that the photographer and subject existed together for a fraction of a second.
Huff will discuss his work in the exhibit, what makes a great street photograph stand out, and the key tips aspiring photographers can use to get started.
