Mark your calendars for March 21st and 22nd as the Color & Light Festival arrives in Asbury Park. This free public event will transform the historic Paramount Theatre with cutting-edge projection mapping, digital storytelling, and an immersive soundscape. Organizers have planned something for everyone: art lovers, tech enthusiasts, and anyone who appreciates a good show.

Over the two-day festival, six creative teams from Hungary, Ukraine, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, and the United States will present original 3D animations that bring the theater’s architecture to life, creating the illusion of the buildings physically changing before your eyes. The magic is created by combining intricate animations with finely tuned music and structural calculations to create a unique visual experience and feel otherworldly. It’s a great example of how art and technology can come together to create something unforgettable.
The family-friendly festival will also feature local food vendors, pop-artisans, and a Parkside Gallery showcasing Web3 digital art from both established and up-and-coming artists. Attendees will be able to stroll through the festival grounds and explore light sculptures scattered throughout Sunset Park.
The theme for this inaugural festival is “It takes all our colors to achieve light,” which captures the essence of what the event is all about—celebrating diversity, creativity, and the unifying power of art.

So, who’s bringing this groundbreaking event to life? That would be PolyOne, a Web3 platform based in Asbury Park, in conjunction with LUMA, which produces the country’s premier projection arts festival in Binghamton, New York, each year. PolyOne uses blockchain technology to help artists by securely tracking ownership and simplifying the process of selling their work. This approach allows artists to reach a global audience while maintaining control over their creative liberty. As PolyOne founder Shawn Emamjomeh says, “Our hope is to bring unity and light into our world through the power of creation.” By supporting innovative artists and embracing new technologies, PolyOne is creating a space in Asbury Park where art can thrive and come together to celebrate what makes individuals unique."
One of the artists who will be transforming the Paramount is Julia Shamsheieva, a visionary 3D and motion designer from Odessa, Ukraine. Shamsheieva has gained widespread international acclaim for her vibrant projection mapping artistry and master story-telling skills. As the first solo female winner of Japan’s 1minute Projection Mapping competition, her work lights up global stages with innovation, deep creative skill and profound humanity.
Another artist is Filip Roca from Barcelona, Spain, whose work has been showcased globally at prestigious festivals and institutions. Roca’s innovative approach earned him the first prize at the International Mapping Festival in Girona in 2015 and at iMapp Bucharest in 2016.
What makes Asbury Park an ideal location for Color & Light? "From the ancient Citadel of Erbil, Kurdistan in Iraq, where the first threads of civilization were woven, to Asbury Park, a symbol of cultural reinvention in America, PolyOne's journey has always been about illuminating the human story through art," says Emamjomeh. "In Erbil, we stood at the genesis of civilization; in Asbury Park, we stand at its pinnacle - "The Paramount" - of civilization near Lady Liberty's torch, a beacon of unity in the most transformative time in our history."
