ABOUT
Monmouth Arts is very excited to announce the kickoff of our first-ever Teen Arts Virtual STAGE + SHOWCASE! We know that recent school closures and restrictions on public gatherings have resulted in the cancelation of many of our local student artists’ events - including our Monmouth Arts Teen Arts Festival, Spring Musicals, Spring Concerts, Art Exhibitions, Dance Recitals, and more. Monmouth Arts realizes that the arts are more important now than ever before; it is through the arts that we can express our feelings, provide comfort to one another, inspire hope for the future, and bring together our talented community of artists...and we want YOU to help us do all of these things!
In response to the current state of things, we hope to provide our teens with an artistic outlet, much like they would have experienced at the Monmouth Arts Teen Arts Festival (that has been postponed), however in a virtual format that keeps everyone safe and healthy!
WHAT IS THE TEEN ARTS VIRTUAL STAGE + SHOWCASE?
Each Friday, Monmouth Arts will share a short video on our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) featuring performances, visual art, and more from young artists throughout our community! We invite viewers from locally and beyond to check out the incredible talent thriving right here in Monmouth County. Visual arts selections compiled throughout the contest will be compiled into an Online Teen Arts Gallery! The first Virtual Stage + Showcase will be posted on Friday, April 3.
WHO CAN ENTER?
Any Monmouth County resident between the ages of 13-19 is eligible to submit an entry! Entrants must currently be following Monmouth Arts on Instagram (@MonmouthArts).
HOW DO I SUBMIT AN ENTRY?
Submit the entry form along with your video or image by Wednesday of each week! Videos selected for that week’s Virtual Stage + Showcase will then be compiled and shared on Monmouth Arts Facebook & Instagram pages each Friday. Entries for each round will open weekly on Thursdays (for the following week). Only 1 submission allowed per week. Monmouth Arts may publish entries in a following week’s showcase.
ARE THERE PRIZES?
There sure are! Participants who submit entries, and also sign up to become Student Members of Monmouth Arts will be entered in Prize Drawings throughout the duration of the virtual program! Prizes include gifts from Rook Coffee, Playa Bowls, AMC Movie Theatre, the Count Basie Center for the Arts, and more! You can sign up to become a Student Member for FREE for your chance to win! Participants who are already Student Members of Monmouth Arts are also eligible to be entered in these prize drawings.
QUESTIONS?
Reach out to Arts Education & Events Manager, Vinny Martini, with any questions you have! He can be reached via email at vinny@monmoutharts.org.
