While attending Baltimore City Community College, where she earned her Associates of Art degree in Graphic Design, she took some art classes. Her late father was a local artist in Baltimore. As a little girl she was always drawing and sketching, she didn’t really get into painting until 1999, which is when it became her passion. She is both a graphic/surface pattern designer and abstract contemporary artist. In 2014, she officially created her freelance art & design studio named Chelle’s Creations, LLC.

Grey Matter Elisabeth McKeon Opening Reception: April 12, 2019 | 6:00 - 7:30pm Exhibit: April 8 - May 29, 2019 Select Works: Grey Area explores the two years that have passed since a shift in our political landscape. The photos here were taken in February of 2017, less than a month after the presidential inauguration. The images should encourage viewers to consider both how quickly the past two years have gone by and how much or how little progress has been made. Additionally, how would these photographs have been viewed at the time they were taken? How should they be viewed now?

Puddles & Rainbows Author-Illustrator Mike Ciccotello Meet and Greet: November 16, 2019 | 1:00 - 3:00pm Schedule for the event: 1:15 - 1:30 Learn to draw a castle (age suggestion 4-6) 1:40 TWINS reading and Mike will do a drawing for attendees 2:00 - 2:15 Learn to draw a rocket (age suggestion 7-12) Remaining time - Q&A and signing Exhibit: November 1 - November 26, 2019 Select Works: Mike is an author-illustrator. He makes books for children of all ages, even the really old children that never have time to play. This is a selection of work from his current children’s literature portfolio. Mike creates all of his art digitally, in the application, ProCreate, on an iPad pro, with an Apple Pencil. Mike received a BFA with a concentration in painting from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. His debut picture book, Twins, was recently published by FSG/Macmillan. He is also the author-illustrator of Beach Toys vs. School Supplies (FSG/Macmillan) and the illustrator of Treemendous by Bridget Heos (Crown/Penguin Random House) and Cheese and Quackers by Sudipta Bardhan-Quallen (Aladdin/Simon&Schuster)—all forthcoming. Mike’s clients also include Scholastic, Highlights magazine, and CNN. He has also exhibited at Johnson & Johnson headquarters and the NY Design Center. Mike is an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBW) and the Children’s Book Illustrators Group (CBIG), and was a contributing member of AllTheWonders.com. Summer Sense-Ability The Arc of Monmouth Opening Reception: June 19, 2019 | 6:00 - 7:30pm Exhibit: June 14, - June 27, 2020 Select Works: The Arc of Monmouth’s mission is to improve the lives of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families through advocacy, services and supports, collaboration with community partners, and community education. They provide life-changing family supports, residential and independent living options, employment services, recreational opportunities, adult day programs, transition services for those moving from high school to adult life, a college program affiliated with Brookdale Community College, community vocational services, and behavioral health care.

Monmouth Arts invites you to take part in Exquisitely Connected, a national visual art community-building experience created and curated by artist Molly Gaston Johnson and in partnership with Maryhill Museum in southern Washington State. EXQUISITELY CONNECTED Monmouth Arts invites you to take part in Exquisitely Connected , a national visual art community-building experience created and curated by artist Molly Gaston Johnson and in partnership with Maryhill Museum in southern Washington State. This initiative is inspired by the Surrealist parlor game, Exquisite Corpse, where participants contribute to a collective artwork without being able to see what others have created. We are asking YOU to create 8” x 8” artworks at home that will be connected digitally. Our goal is to connect creatives of all ages and abilities – virtually and literally – as each finished artwork becomes a part of a larger whole. The digital mural will be turned into a physical exhibit at Maryhill Museum in 2021! Click here for the parameters for creating your piece and how to upload it so you can be part of the experience. All you need are a few basic art supplies and your creativity. Tell us about what you are feeling now, the hopes you want to express for the future, or create a metaphor for today’s world experience.
